Britannia Enactus

Britannia Enactus was formed in 2012 as Britannia SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise), an afterschool program focusing on social entrepreneurship and environmental sustainabity. With a name change to Enactus (entrepreneurial, action, us), we are sponsored by the UBC Sauder School of Business and participate in the Spend It Right competition where we learn to create, design, and market a product that may be taken on by a non-profit organization as a new revenue generating vehicle. In the competition, presentations are made by several schools in front of a panel of business professionals and a winner is declared.

We thank the UBC Sauder School of Business for their help and guidance in this competition.

2015 - Vancouver Eco-Soap, Scent & Beyond (VESSB)

On February 21, 2015, Britannia Enactus students competed in the Spend It Right Competition at UBC! They formed Vancouver Eco-Soap, Scent & Beyond (VESSB), a venture that transformed excess cooking oils into glycerin soap. VESSB's theme focused on showcasing Vancouver's scenic attractions and matching it with appropriate soap fragrances.

At the competition, the students pitched their idea and impressed all the judges with their vision and their presentation, finishing 2nd among competing high schools from the Lower Mainland. More information on VESSB can be found on Twitter and Facebook. Click here for a photo gallery of VESSB!
